0Crypt – Feel You Ep (Nineteen89 Records) [EIGHTYNINE003]
This release is another one of those cross genre types, and as all three tracks portray a different sound and energy, it would be difficult and silly to try and describe the release with one word. ‘Feel You’ is an uplifting house/future garagey type track, and the vocals combine perfectly with the subtle kicks and claps of the track. Visions is the second track on the release and already we feel the mood getting slightly darker. I feel this track has been aimed towards the late hours/ early morning after a rave has finished with its hypnotic vocals and sinister ambience. Finally we get to ‘Visions’ which, with it’s crunchy percussion and warped bassline, is the darkest of the three cuts and my favourite track on the release.
Don’t take my word for it though, take a listen for yourselves below!
What other sites have said about this release:
TLOB:“From murky 2-step garage beginnings enveloping London’s Plastic People events, Essex producer Daniel Shell creates thick full-bodied bass music, made up of throbbing layers that summon you to the dancefloor.”…”Jazzy rhythms and tightly wound percussion keep the mood upbeat, while flooding the dancefloor with a hard-hitting, yet inviting darkness. After a listen through, there’s no doubt, Crypt’s music was made for those exceptionally late nights that challenge the sun to never rise.”
