Burial – Rival Dealer (Hyperdub) [HDB080]

Word has broke today that a new Burial release is on its way, scheduled for the 16th December 2013. Of course we all know winter time is Burial season. Let’s not lie to ourselves, Burials music is not best suited to the summer seasons..

Once again this is a Hyperdub release, as expected, and according to other blogs on the internet, the release will entail 3 tracks and will have a total run time of 23 Minutes. ~~What tracks can we expect? Who knows, maybe we’ll get a release of ‘My Heart’, which was ripped from Four Tet’s radio show in early October.~~ More To Come (of course)…

Update 11/12/2013: Hyperdub have now released the tracks available as a download via the website (and the link below) with the vinyl and cd available next Monday.

What I think people love about Burials tracks is that it doesn’t seem to follow any sort of structure. A sot of modern electronic symphony and this is once again true for the 3 tracks on this release. Another thing we know people love about Burials music, is the dark, mellow mood we feel in the vibe of his tracks, and unsurprisingly this is also the case for this release. Whilst I am thrilled that the release has finally come out, I guess the race is now on to find all of the samples that Burial has used in the 3 tracks, and whosampled presents a decent list of some samples that have been discovered so far.
